St Lawrence's Church, Dial Place, Warkworth, Northumberland, c1955-c1980. An exterior view of St Lawrence's Church, showing the south elevation with the churchyard in the foreground. The earliest parts of the church, including the nave and chancel, are early 12th century, with the three stage west tower added c1200. The belfry and spire on the top stage of the tower were added during the 14th or 15th centuries, and the south aisle and porch date from the late 15th century. The south aisle and porch have stepped buttresses at the corners and between bays, and the porch entrance is set within a moulded pointed arch. Above is a small two light window. In the south side of the chancel there are two bays with a small window in each, a 19th century priest's door under the window in the western bay and an old blocked priest's door in the eastern bay. In the gables of the nave and chancel are roundel windows and a cross finial at the apex.
