Disability Action Network (DAN) is based in Hargeisa in Somaliland. It is a charity which works with disabled children and young people helping them to access health care and provide them with therapeutic rehabilitation. DAN supply and fit orthopaedic appliances and physiotherapy when needed. Somaliland is a very poor country and to many not living in the capital Hargeisa health care is very difficult to come by. DAN received the STARS Foundation Health Award in 2008 for outstanding work. Here a mould made in plaster is ready to build a right arm prosthetic in the work shop at DAN.
