The station is located below the street of the same name and opened on September 24,1994 when the line was extended to Wittenau. It has side platforms that are accessible via stairs or inclined elevators. The colourful design refers to the linden tree that appears on the coat of arms of the city that gave the Lindauer Straße its name. The entire station may be viewed from a gallery.
