LIFEGUARDS in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK 22nd January, 2015. UK Weather. Calm evening after a high tide on Crosby Beach. RNLI Coastguard maintain a static patrol, as a safety precaution, to monitor the movement of visitors to the beach. Crosby, to the south of Fornby is a wide expanse of sand, mostly backed by promenade, with a two mile tidal reach. Although not a designated bathing water, many visitors come to see the popular Anthony Gormley sculptures which can be partially or totally submerged depending on the state of tide.
