August 29, 2014, a fissure eruption started in Holuhraun at the northern end of a magma intrusion, which had moved progressively north, from the Bardarbunga volcano. Bardarbunga is a stratovolcano located under Vatnajokull, Icelands most extensive glacier. Picture date- Sept 2, 2014
