This image is scanned from a 35mm negative and is grainy and not up to modern standards of sharpness. The locomotive was built by Kitson and Co. of Leeds in 1904. The Lambton railway was built to convey coal from the owner's collieries to staithes on the river Never part of British Railways, it became a part of the NCB network before closure in 1967.
