Neuroimaging research centre. Researcher preparing a subject for a functional MRI (fMRI) scan whilst also undergoing an EEG (electroencephalogram). An EEG measures electrical activity in the brain. fMRI measures the change in blood flow related to neural activity in the brain. These two techniques will enable researchers to see what areas of the brain are physically and/or electrically active when the subject is exposed to visual stimuli, and to determine how the two activities are related.
