Wide view E from the summit of Yr Eifl over Tre'r Ceiri hillfort (Town of the Giants) over the NE part of the Lleyn Peninsula with peaks of the Snowdon Range to the rear. Begun in the late 1st millennium BC, drystone ramparts enclose some 5 acres (2ha) & around 150 huts which were still in use in the C4thAD. The SW & NW entrances were multiphase, the main (NW) being rebuilt in the C2ndAD during the Roman occupation of Britain.
