The Lamasco bank was appointed re- pcivor of the Pave Peck Seed Co., Kvansville, Ind., by Judge Lockyear in the Probate court June 26 at Evans- ville. The appointment of a receiver to handle the business of the firm and $60,- 000 damages was asked by the Mercan- tile-Commercial bank, trustee for W. H. Small & Co., in a suit filed in the Pro- bate court. It is asserted that the Dave Peck Seed Co. is indebted to W. H. Small & Co. for goods purchased. The appointment of a trustee for W. H. Small & Co. was reported in last week's issue of The Review. Outside capital is being interested, it is reported, with the of straightening out the company's affairs. Mr. Small states: "Because bankers were calling in loans and were not ex- tending credit, and because of the late season causing a decrease in the sale of field seeds and the tieup on the railroads causing transportation difficulties, the company was forced to go into the hands of a trusteeship.
