EIGHTH ARMY : VARIOUS - Sgmn. Bayes of 108 Regent Street, Nuneaton, Warwicks, at the wheel of the jeep which he has driven from El Alamein to the Appenines, covering 108,949 miles in the process. Sgmn. Bayes has been in the Army for 4j years, 4 years of which have been spent in Egypt, Palestine, Syria,Sicily and Italy. The jeep was fitted with a new engine 12 months ago, but otherwise is substantially the same as when it started the journey.
