He then entered as a studentthe law office of Elting & Camp, practicing at-tornejs of Macomb, where he remained until1901, when he removed to Blandinsville, andthere engaged in the real-estate, loan and in-surance business, and was also employed asmanager of the telephone system for nearlytwo years. In January, 1903, he purchased theRlandinsville Star Gazette, to which he hassince given his entire attention as editor andpublisher, building up a prosperous Blandinsville Star was established in1893, and the Gazette in 1887, the two papersbeing consolidated in 1900 under the name ofthe Star-Gazette.
