Common buzzard (Buteo buteo) on a wooden stump. This bird of prey is found throughout Europe and parts of Asia, inhabiting open areas, such as farmland and moors, and wooded hills. It grows up to 50 centimetres in length and feeds on small birds, mammals and carrion. Photographed in Gloucestershire, UK, in April.
