His work was her work; she did nothingwithout his advice and permission, and she was a truedaughter of Sarah, who obeyed her husband, callinghim lord. Yet when she found it necessary to do so,she could act decidedly, in sincerity and rectitude. Ourfather in return gave her his fullest and most affec-tionate confidence, and bestowed upon her a fatherstenderest care; and we children had the happy privi-lege of beholding in our parents the realisation of atruly blessed union, where the supremacy of the hus-band was combined with the most lovinsf consideration,and the submission of the wife with joyful, perfectconfidence.
