The Gibb River Road cuts through the tropical heart of the KImberley region of North Western Australia, for 600km from Derby to the Great Northern Highway near Wyndham. The (originally unsealed0 stock route serviceS the cattle stations spread out along its length, but in recent years the route has become a popular adventure road trip for tourists in the Dry season and the asphalt now extends from both ends leaving only the central 400km (and all the side roads) unsealed.
