JANJANBUREH, THE GAMBIA (18/01/2019) - Hamat Bah, the Minister of Tourism and Culture in The Gambia, addresses the crowd on the opening of the Janjanbureh Kankurang Festival. The Janjanbureh Kankurang Festival is part of joint efforts by the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa and the Gambian Youth Empowerment Project to boost tourism in Janjanbureh. By preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of the Kankurang, it is creating new economic opportunities for young Gambians in the form of increased tourism.
