BRITISH MEDICAL SERVICES IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR - Field Surgical Units (FSU) - FSU team performing an operation within a much bombed Italian prison, December 1943. The area they are working in is under enemy shellfire. The FSU team consists of Major Swinney RAMC of Newcastle, the surgeon, who is assisted by Corporal Lixford. The two orderlies are Private Levine and Private Humphries, RAMC, of Yorkshire,a clerk British Army, Royal Army Medical Corps
