Near the church of Santa Croce, are fome remains of atemple of Venus and Cupid, but very ruinous. In a vineyard not far from this, is a beautiful ruin of the tem-ple of Minerva Medica, a decagon. The door-place takes upone of the fides; the oppofite fide is tumbled down. Therewas a nich in it when ftanding, as there is now in every one ofthe eight other fides which remain, befides that in which thedoor is. And thus, the number of niches being nine, it isfuppofed that they were filled with the ftatues of the nine each of the niches is a window. There is now a fountain in .Pa a. a,$8,. (/.
