South eastern corner of Moravian Pottery and Tile Works from northern side of courtyard. Two lines of semi circular archways meet at corner with large concrete balcony above partially obscuring second floor. Tops of windows visible and concrete roof is festooned with large number of chimneys many plain concrete but several brick and glazed tile. Red tiled roof tower in south eastern corner behind chimneys. Grassy courtyard in foreground. Moravian Pottery and Tile Works is a unique poured concrete building designed and built by Henry Mercer during the Art and Crafts movement. It reflects the Spanish influence on mission architecture and was completed in 1912. It produced hand made tiles and mosaics for floors, walls and ceilings. Now a National Historic Landmark it is maintained as a working "working history" museum still producing a few limited decorative ceramic tiles.
