Himalayan tahr is a type of wild goat that belongs to the bovid family. It inhabits mountain slopes, mountain forests and alpine pastures on the Himalayas in Tibet, India and Nepal. Number of Himalayan tahrs in the wild is decreasing due habitat loss, competition for food with domestic animals and uncontrolled hunting. Himalayan tahr is classified as near threatened, which means that it can become endangered in the near future.
