August 1921 - Recovering the wreck of the R38 class (A class) airship built at Cardington for the Royal navy , lost as she flew over the river Humber UK. She was built by Short Brothers as a patrol airship and was powered by 6 Sunbeam Cossack engines . What was then the world's largest airship was sold to the United States Navy in October 1919 before completion. On 24 August 1921, the suffered structural failure while in flight over the city of Hull and crashed into the estuary killing 44 of the 49 people on board.
