Spruce Tree House Anasazi cliff dwelling, Mesa Verde, Colorado: view east from trail near museum, 3rd largest cliff dwellling within the park, Built between AD1200-1276. Cliff Palace contains 114 rooms in appartment blocks and 8 kivas (circular ceremonial chambers) extending some 60 feet (18 meters) from the front buildings to the back wall. It was home to about 100 people. The structures were well built of shaped sandstone blocks jointed with mud and water mortar and coated with a thin layer of mud plaster.
