Oursubject came to Paxton with his parents m 1865,and after attending the city schools for some time,he entered the State Universitv at Champaign,taking a tliree-yearsscientific and classical , he became a student of the ChicagoMedical College, whence he was graduated after atliree-3-ears course, in the Class of 83. On re-ceiving his degree, he returned to Paxton at onceand the following day attended his first case, sincewhich time he has been in continuous and suc-cessful practice, which covers a period of ninej-ears. He has assisted his father in the dischargeof his duties as local ph3sician and surgeon for theIllinois Central Railroad Company, and is exam-ining physician for the Equitable Life InsuranceCompany, of New York, and for the NorthwesternMutual, of Milwaukee, Wis. Mrs. Kelso is anative of Illinois, and her parents are early settlersof Ford Count}. Tlie Doctor and his wife haveone child, a son, Lee Woodford, who was bornAugust 8, 1890. Socially, Dr. Kelso is a Knight Templar Mason,holding membership with Paxtoii Lodge No. 41G,A. F. & A. M.; Ford Chapter No. 113, R. A. M.;and Mt. Olivet Comniandery No. 38, K. T., ofPaxton. He has by his skill, industry and prompt-ness in discharge of his professional duties, suc-ceeded in building up a large and lucrative prac-tice.
