Berlin, Mitte. Hanns Eisler Academy of Music, Neo-Baroque listed Neuer Marstall (New Stables) building situated on the Schlossplatz on Museum Island.


The Neuer Marstall (New Stables) is a listed historic building in Berlin on the Schlossplatz (Palace Square) next to the Spree River. The Neo Barque building was completed in 1901 and faces the former Royal Palace It was home to the Royal equerry, horses and carriages of Imperial Germany. The structure had three enclosed courtyards, a riding school, and the Knights College. The building was damaged in World War II and partly repaired in the 1960s and used as an exhibition space for the Berlin Academy of Arts. Two large bronze reliefs were placed in the corner niches on the facade facing Palace Square in 1988 on the Anniversary of the November Revolution After further renovations in 2005, the building became the home of the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and the Berlin City Library.
