This is an ingenious application of mysystem, for making more certain the takingor rooting of the cutting of resistant stockswhich may be grafted by this method (), either within doors or on the rootedyoung plant in place. It assures a vigorousgrowth of the resistant plant thus employed in grafting a non-resistant vari-ety on a resistant, it possesses the advantageof allowing no roots to form on the graftabove the point of union.
