Porto is the second city Portugal after Lisbon. Located on the estuary of the Douro River in Northern Portugal, it is one of the oldest populated centres in Europe. Its historical centre was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in S‹o Bento Railway Station is an otherwise ordinary 19th century railway station in the heart of the city; its unique claim to fame is its wondrous interior, covered in fine blue and white Azulejo tiles.
