At the age of twenty he decidedto begin work in earnest in the pursuit of a profes-sion, and after much deliberation he entered theCollege of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia,graduating in 1878. He returned to his nativetown and began practice there, later removing toKingston, the County Seat. He early made aspecialty of nervous diseases, and some of his cureshave been the subject of discussion throughout theUnited States, and even further. He is the direct-ing head of one of the largest sanitariums in thecountry, to which patients flock from great dis-tances, his treatment consisting principally of sug-gestive therapeutics and hypnotic influences. He. C. O. SAHLER is Professor of Nervous Diseases and SuggestiveTherapeutics at the Eastern College of Electro-Tiierapeutics in Philadelphia, and is also Professorof Nervous and Suggestive Therapeutics at 152 UNIVERSITIES AND THEIR SONS the Kingston School of Suggestive his other professional work Dr. Sahler isone of the Board of United States Pension Examin-ing Surgeons; a member of the Board of WaterCommissioners of Kingston ; President of the Kings-ton City Piiysicians Association ; one of the Vice-Presidents of the American Association of Physiciansand Surgeons; a member of the Medico-LegalSociety, and a member of the American Psycho-logical Medical and Surgical Society of April 1880, Dr. Sahler married Jennie Sahler, adescendant of another branch of the family. I
