A good market sort, as well as for private pkt. oz. I^lb. lb. use 5 10 20 50 CARROTS. One ounce will sow 100 feet of drill. Three to four pounds will sow one acre. The carrot, like all other root crops, does best an light, loamy or sandy soil. Fresh manure should not be applied, as it has a tendency to make forked and badly shaped roots. For early -crop, sow as soon as possible, and for main crop in May or until middle of June. Plant in rows 15 inches apart, thinning out to 3 or four inches apart in the rows. pkt. oz. >4lb. lb.
