Fruit mostly pyriform, very large, pale yellow, with rugged skin, very thick and bitter; pulp in some sorts white with green tint, in others dark green. Fruit contains many large seeds, and very little juice, which is bitter-acid. The tree is a rapid grower and very ornamental, but the fruit is of very little value, except for decorative purposes.
