The Prome- thea cocoon is spun in a leaf which the caterpillar fastened to the twig by means of silk before it spun the cocoon. If you are re- warded for your search by finding some of these winter homes, leave them in their natural winter quarters until spring; if you take them into the schoolroom, leave them in a cool place and occasion- F--,;^.^^*' g-*^ tt 'Tfe^l^: ally dip them in water that they ^, pupa; e, egg-ring recently laid; may not become too dry.
