REPORT OF THE PRINCIPAL To the President and Board of Trustees of the PennsylvaniaMuseum and School of Industrial Art: I have the honor of submitting herewith my first AnnualReport, for the School-year 1920-21. While the value of a School to the community is measuredrather by the quality of its finished product than by the numbersattending in any year, it may, nevertheless, be worth noting thatduring the past year the number of students was 1648; and, sincesome of these registered for more than one regular course, thetotal number of registrations was 1740. The first year of a new incumbent is naturally largely devotedto a study of conditions and the development of plans for thefuture. I have, along certain lines, found directions in which thework may be broadened in scope. With the heartily-profferedhelp of the teaching staff I hope to put these plans into execution.
