Honeybee research. Researcher conducting an experiment to quantify the heat generated by a honeybee. Heat created by adult bees in a hive aids the development of pupae by keeping them warm. Pupae develop inside wax cells in honeycomb, a section of which is seen resting on top of an Ulbricht sphere. Ulbricht spheres are used to measure the reflected heat from an object, in this case a bee, inside the sphere.
