That part of Queens County comprehended in the consolidation comprisedLong Island City (1st Ward), the towns of Newtown (2nd Ward), Flushing(3rd Ward), Jamaica (4th Ward), and that portion of the town of Hempsteadextending westward, from the eastern limits of the incorporated village of FarRockaway, to Rockaway Beach Inlet, now known as the 5th Ward.
