Instru-ments of this character are extremely rare in England, but in the richcollection of the W. Greenwell, , is a specimen which I haveengraved as Fig. 261. It was found at Crambe, in the North Hiding of. Fig. 261.—Crambe. £ Yorkshire, and is formed of an oolitic shelly limestone, a material alsoused for the manufacture of celts in that district. Though smaller, andrather more deeply notched at the base than my Shetland knife, it iscuriously like it in general form. The sharp edge, however, only extendsalong one side, and is not carried round the point.
