John Navarre Macomb the oldest brother of Gen-eral Macomb was the grandfather of Miss Georgiana Macomb, the lovedmatron of St. Lukes hospital. I have been thus explicit as many mistakes are made with regardto General Macombs identity, which is quite confusing as, in nearlyevery branch, there is an Alexander, four of whom are generals. The original deed of Grosse He, written on parchment about twenty-four inches in length is in the possession of a descendant of anotherbranch of the Macombs residing in Philadelphia. Two descendants. MRS. WILLIAM MACOMB.
