Komsomolsky Pond - a reservoir in Lipetsk, formed during the construction of a dam in 1703 for the needs of ironworks; the dam blocked the bed of the Lipovka river. Therefore, the pond was originally called the pond of the Upper Iron Works, or the Upper Pond. The first attempts to improve the pond date back to the end of the 18th century, when Lipetsk gained fame as a resort with mineral water and mud. Nevertheless, the pond existed unchanged until the beginning of the 20th century. In 1911, by order of the mayor , the Peter's dam was dismantled.
