Dalmuir, Clydebank, Scotland, UK. 14th Dec, 2017. Amateur astronomers and photographers across the UK have braved near-freezing conditions, and the threat of snow, to try to catch glimpses of the Geminids meteor shower. For many observers, however, widespread cloud cover and light pollution in urban areas such as Glasgow spoiled the opportunity. Others stayed indoors to watch the many live streams that have been broadcasting from around the world. Credit: Iain McGuinness/Alamy Live News
