Anjem Choudary's "Need For Khilafah" group protested on Notting Hill Gate near the Lebanese embassy in London against what they say is "the entire Muslim community in North Lebanon being put under siege". Counter-protesters from the anti-Islamic group Britain First, led by Paul Golding arrived and attempted to confront the Islamists directly rather than from their pen across the road. Police were initially outnumbered, but reinforcements ensured that no significant acts of violence occurred.
