Brown (Bahaman) Anole Lizards climb a small tree near houses in Hollywood, Florida. They compete with native Green Anoles for niche space.
These images depict a community of Brown or Bahaman Anoles (Anolis Sagrei) in their habitat in a suburban community in Hollywood, Florida. Over several years I have documented these lizards on a few occasions. As an invasive species they compete with the native Green Anole (Anolis Carolinensis) and have become more successful on the ground and in low shrubs while Green Anoles still predominate in larger trees and in the canopy.
