NeoRecormon anaemia drug, in a pre-filled syringe for injection. This drug consists of epoetin beta, a recombinant (engineered) form of the hormone erythropoietin (human EPO). This is a protein that promotes the production of red blood cells. It is used as medicine for anaemia, particularly when induced by chronic renal failure or cancer chemotherapy. This drug can also be abused in sports doping.
