Childrens shoes litter the road outside Downing Street as a demonstration passes. The shoes are thrown in anger at the number of children who have died during the Israeli Lebanon war currently raging in the Middle East. Many are incensed that US President George W Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair have refused to join international condemnation of the conflict and calls for an immediate ceasefire. 5th August 2006.
