The Long Gallery, Apethorpe Palace, Northamptonshire, 2008. Interior view of the long gallery on the first floor of the east range of the house from the south-west showing wood panelled walls and the ornate fireplace. Apethorpe Hall was given to Elizabeth I by her father, Henry VIII. It later became a favourite royal residence for James I and Charles I. The house boasts one of the country's most complete Jacobean interiors. In 2014 it was renamed Apethorpe Palace to reflect its royal connections.
