This traditional land use includes Turopolje Pigs still roaming free in the floodplains of Lonjsko Polje nature park in Croatia and suckling their young. Die Flussauen der Save werden von den Bauern noch heute so bewirtschaftet, wie es im Mittelalter überall in Mitteleuropa üblich war. Im Rahmen dieser traditionellen Landwirtschaft streift die uralte Landrasse der Turopolje-Schweine ohne Hirten durch den Lonjske Polje-Naturpark und säugen ihre Ferkel.
