Among the rarer plants of New Jersey, collected by me inBergen county during the past botanical season, the followingare, perhaps, worthy of mention : Asclepias verticillata, rocks,Ramapo mountains, Darlington; Trollius laxus, Ramseys;Polygala paueifolia, abundant, Ramseys; Srnilacina stellata ;Menyanthes trifoliata; Camptosorus rhizophyllus; Woodsia II-vensis, mountains, Darlington ; Carex platyphylla, woods, Ram-seys, and Ramapo mountains, Darlington ; Corydalis flavula;Cypripedium pubescens; Diervilla trifida; Castilleia coccinea,abundant, Ramseys ; Ariscema Dracontium. RAILROAD PLANTS. There are certain weeds which seem to follow in the wake ofcivilization.
