The common or ring-necked pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)
The common or ring-necked pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) is a bird in the pheasant family, Phasianidae. The genus name comes from Latin phasianus, "pheasant". Male pheasant bodies are chestnut coloured, and they have a blue-green face with red wattles and bright shades around their eyes. A white collar often separates the head from the body.
