Laurent Joubert (1529-1582), French physician. Joubert studied at the University of Montpellier, and received his doctorate of medicine in 1558. In 1556 he had succeeded his teacher Guillaume Rondelet as Chancellor of the Faculty of Medicine. He then became personal physician to the French queen consort Catherine de Medici, and from 1579 he was physician to King Henry III.
