SHOALWATER BAY, Australia (July 13, 2017) Sailors launch Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1651, assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, from the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) to deliver supplies to Marines attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) on shore as part of a large-scale amphibious assault during Talisman Saber 17. Ashland, serving in a combined Zealand amphibious force, executed ship-to-shore movements of MEU forces and equipment in order to enable the MEU to complete mission objectives.
