Columbus Junction, la.—Louisa County and the citizensof Columbus Junction and Fredonia have built a concreteroad, claimed to be the longest and best stretch of hardsurface roadway in Iowa, at a cost of $13, The roadis 7,224 feet in length. The concrete body is six inchesthick at the sides, and IVa in the center. It is 16 feet inwidth, with a dirt shoulder of five feet at each side andan expansion joint every thirty feet. It was built by con-vict labor from the Anamosa reforma
