France, Amiens Cathedral (World Heritage Site), West Facade, Right Portal, Quatrefoil Medallions

The West Facade was built between 1220 and 1240. The right portal is named "The Portal of the Virgin" or "Mother of God". In this image, the four central quatrefoil medallions on the base represent scenes related to King Solomon: Solomon on his throne, Solomon at table, Solomon praying before the Tempe, Solomon showing his splendors to the Queen of Sheba. The Cathedral of Notre Dame of Amiens was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981.
