Protesters on the Jannowitzbrücke display banners protesting the torture and persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) is an ancient practice for self improvement of the body, mind and spirit using exercise and meditation. It was introduced to the public in China in 1992 by Mr Li Hongzhi. According to the activists, the Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin founded the 610 office in 1999 to force followers of Falun Gong to abandon their beliefs and extreme torture has been employed. It is alleged that organs of the followers have been harvested for profit and that there are 3583 confirmed deaths of Falun Gong Followers.
