As a result of investigations during the years 1906 and 1907, ourknowledge of the part birds play in restricting the ravages of the pestwas considerably increased, and a number of additional species werefound to feed upon the weevil. Practical suggestions are made inthe bulletin for increasing the numbers of swallows breeding in thecotton districts, swallows having been ascertained to be among themost important enemies of the pest.
